     I decided to start this page to share with the FT-817's many fans the tips, tricks, and many other pieces of useful information I've found as I explore the world of ham radio and QRP.

Like many others I have found QRP the 817 to be surprisingly fun and for me at least, I can credit it with truly renewing my interest in ham radio. Being avid hikers, travelers, and involved in emergency services the FT-817 has found a perfect home with us; able to go anywhere we go.
